Jer 5:6
Therefore a lion out of the forest shall kill them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; everyone who goes out there shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, and their backsliding is increased.Because of this a lion out of his den struck them and until a wolf of their houses destroyed them and a leopard over their cities fully alerted them, all fleeing from them will be hunted because they multiplied their unholiness and have strengthened themselves by their turning around(apostrophes)ᵃ
———
a αποστροφαισ: accent of elision' from turn away ... used to indicate possession or omission of letters or numbers.
b The leopard is recognized as the Greek Empire, through whom the LXX would be produced for widespread distribution and access not only to the diaspora, available in any synagogue (see Acts 17:1-3 and Acts 15:21) but would continue in widespread use among the Christians until the completeion of the "pointed text" of the 5th century AD Pharisees of Tiberius.
