to desolate [lay-waste, cause to be abandoned]
Jer 10:25
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the familiesgenerations that don’t call on your name: for they have devoured Jacob, yes, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.pasturage***********
———
a νομην (nomen) is the Koine word for pasturage and it is very close to νομος which means custom or law. This chapter begins w God imploring the Children of Israel to not learn the nomima of the nations and then warns that the generations which have not calld upon His name have consumed Jakob and literally annihilate him and made his nomen (pasturage) desolate.
