Mk 15:34
At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”*
———
a see Isaiah 59:19 ηλιου.. sun/ elijah. The Jews did not understand Jesus calling for God in "Hebrew" because they had been speaking Greek for 400y in Jerusalem by the day Jesus called this name from the cross. Eloi in "Hebrew" sounds just like Elijah to a Greek speaking audience.
