Jas 2:11
For
t
he
one
who said, “Do not commit adultery,”
*
also said, “Do not commit murder.”
*
Now if you do not commit adultery, but
you do commit
murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
[a]
———
a
You don't have to commit both to become a transgressor. This is not a weird non-sequitur admonishing people who may think its okay to murder if you don't commit adultery, but obvious examples of laws where breaking either without breaking the other will make you a transgressor.
