Gal 3:8
The Scripture, foreseeing anticipating that by faith God would justify justifies[a] the Gentiles by faith, preached to Abraham beforehand the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying that, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”*[2, 3]
———
a That is, God's promise to bless is a promise to justify, to wit: in you all the nations will be justified.
b Genesis 22:18 LXX: And will be blessed in the your seed all the nations of the earth (also: Genesis 12:3 [...in you all the tribes...], 18:18 [...in him all the nations...], and 26:4 [same as 12:18, except will be blessed is εὐλογηθήσονται instead of ἐνευλογηθήσονται]).
c This is an interesting argument. Yes, because of Abraham's faith, God promised to bless the nations through his progeny. But subsequently, God gave the law to that progeny. So although Abraham received his own blessing through faith alone, is this in itself sufficient argument that the blessing of the nations is unencumbered by the law? If so, then for what reason, according to Paul, did God encumber the progeny with the law? For this argument to be conclusive—that God justifies the nations by faith alone—requires more than only Abraham's example, unless Paul is saying that even before the Christ's revelation, Abraham's example should have be sufficient, to himself and to all the Jews, to discount the law. see romans 5: 13 sin is not imputed until there is a law to identify it as sin.. by this recognition of sin were all nations condemned so that the GLORY of GOD and the gift of GRACE might also be known to all nations... but not as the offence so also the FREE GIFT.. for the judgment was by one to condemnation but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification.
