Gal 3:18
For if the inheritance[a] is of the by way of law, it is no more longer of promise;[b] but to Abraham God has granted it (the inheritance) to Abraham by promise.
———
a That is, the promised justification/blessing of all the nations.
b Even if the inheritance is by law, so long as the inheritance is still justification, it would still be of the promise, no?—because the promise doesn't stipulate how the nations will be justified, only that they will be justified. However, Paul says that justification is not possible by law (3:11); therefore inheritance my way of law is a priori impossible, so the promise still stands, separate from the law, waiting to be fulfilled by some means other than the law (i.e., by faith).
