, apparently meaning words devoid of truth (e.g., empty threats). See Exodus 5:9 LXX:
βαρυνέσθω τὰ ἔργα τῶν ἀνθρώπων τούτων καὶ μεριμνάτωσαν ταῦτα καὶ μὴ μεριμνάτωσαν ἐν λόγοις κενοῖς
