Eph 5:6
¶Let no one deceive you with empty words.[a] For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
———
a Gk. κενοῖς λόγοις, apparently meaning words devoid of truth (e.g., empty threats). [Let heavier work be laid on the men that they may labor at it and pay no regard to lying words (ESV).] See also Deuteronomy 32:47 (and κενολογοῦντας in Isaiah 8:19).
