Acts 5:3
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart[a] to lie to (about)[b] the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
———
a Cf. Judas, Jn. 13:2.
b Here, ψεύδομαι is used with the acc. (ψεύσασθαί τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον), where in Acts 5:4 it is used with the dat. (ἐψεύσω τῷ θεῷ). Ananias is misrepresenting (falsifying; not lying to) the holy spirit as being the motivator behind his actions, and by doing so is lying to God.
