ψεύδομαι
is used with the acc. (
ψεύσασθαί τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον
), where in Acts 5:4 it is used with the dat. (
ἐψεύσω τῷ θεῷ
). Ananias is misrepresenting (falsifying; not lying
to
) the holy spirit as being the motivator behind his actions, and by doing so is lying
to
God.
