a Peter addresses the multitude three times in this manner (like Shakespeare's Friends, Romans, countrymen). First as Jews (2:14), appealing to scripture by quoting Joel. Second as Israelites (2:22), appealing to manifest signs by God. Third as brothers (2:29), appealing to their patriarch David.
