1Pt 1:1
¶Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to (the) chosen ones selected[a] who are living as foreigners emigrants in the Dispersion in of (the) diaspora[b] of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
———
a That is, followers of the Way (Acts 9:2).
b The Jewish diaspora residing outside Judea and Samaria—as opposed to the Christian diaspora of James 1:1 and Acts 8:1, the Jewish followers of the Way forced out of Jerusalem but still (mostly) residing in Judea and Samaria—which was proselytized after the scattering. Acts 11:19-20: Now those who had been scattered because of the persecution that took place over Stephen went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message to no one but Jews. But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene among them who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus. (NET).
