ὑπο+βάλλω to to throw put or lay under (v.) to lay under, as a foundation; to subject, submit; Mid. to substitute another's child for one's own; to suggest, whisper, as a prompter does; Mid. to appropriate
βάλλω to throw (v.) throw, cast; but sometimes loses it's "forceful" connotation and becomes simply a verb of motion such as "put" or "bring"
