Gk.
ἐκ τοῦ μαμωνᾶ τῆς ἀδικίας
.
Ἀδικία
, wrongdoing, is usually translated here (and in 16:8) as an adjective, like
ἄδικος
in 16:11, e.g.,
the unrighteous mammon,
instead of as a genitive noun.
b
The meaning of "make friends from the mammon of wrongdoing [or unrighteousness]" must equate to the admonition in 16:11 to be trustworthy with unrighteous mammon.
c
Can this be a question, i.e.: Do you make friends for yourselves from the mammon of wrongdoing/unrighteousness, so that when you fail they may receive you into the eternal tents?
